Peter Max Portrait

This portrait is of the civitas on Dave Lyle Blvd. I decided to do a statue instead of a student portrait. This was a fun project but the paint irritated me.

Peter Max

I really enjoyed this project because of the different layers of work I had to do beginning with sketching, then adding prismacolor, and finally adding a background with photoshop. I do appreciate the contrast between colorful subject matter and grayscale background, but I feel the background is too dark and simple. If I had mroe time I would create a more detailed, lighter background to support the subject better.

A Couple More

Along with the logo I am currently designing for Level 3 Roofing & Remodeling, I have also made a few other logos just for some friends who have asked. They're like club, group, team names made into logos. Keep in mind I didn't focus too much on the principles of art when I designed these. Anyways, here they are.

Update

So the image above is what I started with. As I started to change it I decided to deviate from the block, formal style in the house or icon part of the logo. I did this by changing the normal 3 into a more stylish, free flowing 3 with more of a curved contour. Also I added a turquoise color to the image to highlight it and make it more noticeable, and to ultimately catch people's attention. Lastly, to highlight the text, I implemented a simple drop shadow with the turquoise color. And below is what I ended up with. Criticism is welcome and appreciated.
